Youth and Children
Our Nursery is open on Sunday mornings at 9:15 A.M. in the children’s wing of our Church. Our nursery offers an atmosphere that is nurturing and loving. Here at Eastminster’s Nursery, children will not only have fun playing with fellow peers and activities, but they will also have fun learning the scriptures. Whether you bring in a toddler or a pre-k, there will be intentional quality time given to the spiritual growth of your child.
Kidz Lab is our Children’s Church that happens during the worship service on Sunday Mornings. Children in grades Kindergarten through 5thgrade will kids will learn about God during both a large group and small group time from a dedicated cross cultural and Christ centered team. Kids begin Sunday during our worship service in the worship service but at the conclusion of children’s message we transition from the sanctuary as a group to our large group time, where kids will focus on an age appropriate lesson that corresponds to the Pastor’s message for the day. The large group component uses humorous skits and video and then we separate into age specific small groups. During this time we play games, build things and have meaningful, constructive conversations that help the children apply the truth learned in the lesson to their daily lives
One Big Story
Wednesdays, October 3 - December 12, with no meeting on November 21
5:30 - 7 pm
One Big Story, a weekly program for elementary-aged kids, highlights key stories in the narrative of the Bible. The goal is to give kids the opportunity to hear the Bible as one big story because that's what it is! The program helps them understand how all of history revolves around the birth/life/death/resurrection of Jesus Christ. Every class will include dinner, a Bible lesson, and a game or craft associated with the lesson for the day.
Register your child(ren) for One Big Story here.
The Children's Choir, for kids K-5 is a great experience for children to learn how to sing, learn Biblical passages and concepts through song, meet new friends and use their voices to praise God. Under the direction of Nikki Porter and volunteer mom, Amy Cornelius, the Children's Choir practices from 1-2PM every Saturday (except for 4th Saturdays) and accumulate attendance points redeemable at their "store" monthly, when they get to shop for cool toys, candy, and books as a reward for their participation. Parents interested in getting their children involved can contact Nikki Porter at: email@example.com
Chosen Generation Youth Ministry
Our middle and high school disciples meet on Wednesday's downstairs in the youth lounge from 7 PM-9 PM. Every week we eat together, worship together, fellowship together and study God's word together. We believe that God has called us to be his "Chosen Generation" (1 Peter 2:9) who can make a difference in this world!
Youth Praise Band
Who We Are
The Youth Praise Band (YPB) at Eastminster is a fun group of middle and high school students who like to sing and/or play instruments, connect with friends and most importantly, connect with God. The YPB practices on Wednesdays from 6-7PM (except for the Wednesdays after they sing, holiday breaks, and other times communicated by Ms. Nikki) during the school year (September through end of May) and sings/plays on the third Sunday of each month.
Youth Praise Band members are expected to attend Wednesday practices and ministry on third Sundays, unless they are absolutely unable to attend – then are expected to communicate their absences with Ms. Nikki in advance via text message or email. Participation in the Youth Praise Band is for the entire school year. We know academics, sports, musicals and life happens…but just like commitment to any school extra-curricular activity, we expect you to take your commitment to the Youth Praise Band seriously. Please communicate your busy season in advance to Ms. Nikki, as you may need to step out for a while and then return when your schedule settles down.
Do You Have to Be a Member of Eastminster?
Some of our YPB singers and musicians are members of Eastminster Church, others are not. Some come from our after-school music program, The Judah Project; others come from the neighborhood around Eastminster or with friends. All are welcome!
