Adult Discipleship Class - Equipped to Do Ministry!

  • Eastminster Presbyterian Church 250 North Highland Avenue Pittsburgh, PA, 15206 United States (map)

Are you trying to figure out God’s will for your everyday life but need some encouraging help?  Are you striving to live out your faith beyond the church walls but need a community of support?  Are you wanting to think through the hot topics of today, but desire to understand them in the light of God’s Word?  Well, come and participate in the Adult Disciple gatherings throughout this fall!

Each month, we will offer a series of gatherings on a particular theme meant to equip us to do the ministry of our everyday lives.  Through such topics as - How do I participate in politics as a follower of Christ?  Or, How do I live out my faith at work?  Or, How do I show forth Christ in my neighborhood? - we will discuss, learn, and practice the Christ-like way!

Currently, our theme is “Discerning the Will of God and Discovering who God has Called You to Be!” Guest leaders Rev. Mike Gehrling (Associate for 1001 New Worshiping Communities) and Rev. Ayana Teter of the PC(USA) Board of Pensions will lead discussions on practicing spiritual discernment and discovering the strengths that God has given to you!

October 7 - Rev. Mike Gehrling and using the Strengths Finder tool (Session 3)
(Strengths Finder is an assessment tool that helps individuals discover what they do best and how to cultivate their talents and gifts.  In his work, Rev. Mike Gehrling uses this tool to help equip pastors to do their work of cultivating new worshiping communities.)

Nursery and Rock Club for K-5th grade happen at the same time so parents can enjoy their own time for fellowship and study.
